Happy New Year 2019!

Dear Members and Friends of the CAI Alabama Chapter!

Welcome to the new year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and have started 2019 off well!

The 2019 CAI Alabama Board of Directors and our Chapter Executive Director are looking forward to a great year as we work together with you to build better communities in Alabama!

We listened to your feedback and we are excited to be doing some new things this year!

  • We have added two late afternoon chapter meetings with a speaker at a local bar/restaurant with a social to follow as well as one breakfast chapter meeting! Check out the updated 2019 events calendar by clicking here.

  • We've added a Chapter Ambassadors Committee as well as a Like, Share & Tweet Committee! Thank you to all that have already signed up to serve on the committees this year. If you are still looking to get involved, let us know! We are inviting all committee members to stay for a chapter wide committee meeting with the Chapter Board of Directors right after the luncheon on January 31!

  • In an effort in increase attendance at our homeowner education sessions, we are going to offer this year's Board Leadership Development Workshop in three live webinar sessions. The webinars will cover the same topics as in the past, will be taught by local industry professionals and will be free to members and $20/session for non-members! The dates are as following: March 5, March 12 and March 19. Stay tuned for more information!

  • And last but not least, we are going to have a 2nd Annual CAI Alabama Chapter Golf Tournament! Save the date for September 17! We hope that many of you will be able to join us this year!

CMCA Digital Badge: Resources for CAI Chapter Managers

CMCA Badge
In December last year, CAMICB, in partnership with a company called Acclaim, launched a cool, innovative program for CMCAs called a digital badge. The CMCA Digital Badge is an electronic version of the CMCA Certificate that managers received when they passed the exam. Some CMCAs have questions about the validity of the badge. Others have questions about adding the badge to their email signature.

Following some more information to clarify some of your questions you may have:

CMCA Digital Badge: What is it and Why do I need it?

  • What is a Digital Badge? It's an electronic version of a professional certificate, like the paper CMCA Certificate you received for passing the exam. Digital badges are a common, efficient way to promote professional achievement in social media, web sites, and email signatures.   • Is the email from [email protected] safe? Absolutely! Acclaim is the technology behind the CMCA Digital Badge. CAMICB chose Acclaim to provide this service to Certified Managers of Community Associations in response to an increasing need by CMCAs to differentiate themselves from other designations.

Impact of the Goverment Shutdown on Community Associations
